How It’s Done

It can be scary turning over your much loved pets and home to someone else.  That’s certainly understadable!  We’d like to let you know how the whole process works to help with that.

Pet Details: 

At our first contact we want to learn as much as possible about your pets – where do they live, their type, age, temperment, medical issues, special feeding requirements, etc.  We want to know all about their lifestyle and how they’re used to be cared for.  Is this a sedentary pet, or highly active, what is their excercise regime?  Will they need daily visits or overnight care?  We also want to answer any questions that you have about us and address any concerns you may have.

Your Sitter: 

With this information in hand we can provide you with the name of one of our wonderful pet sitters that would be best suited to care for your pet and arrange a convenient time for you to meet using our appointment management system.  Your sitter will confirm receipt and your appointment will be set.  After years of experience we’ve learned to be very selective and how to be organized.  We’ve learned what works and what doesn’t.  Our pet sitters are professionals who are the best at what they do and are a part of our Don’t Leave Me This Way Family!  You will be given a Login User ID and Password which you can use to give us all the details we need to know right down to your pet’s microchip #s and vet information.  With this information your pet sitter can be prepared for the…..

The Meeting:

This is the beginning of what could be a very long relationship between you, your sitter, and your pets.  Our sitters think of your pets like family and want to know all about them at the meeting and how to best care for them.  This is your opportunity to give all the details to your sitter, and to make sure that you agree that this sitter is a good fit for your family.  This is a good time to provide keys which will be managed via our key management system for your safety and security. After everything goes well, and we know it will, you’ll want to….

Schedule Your Visits:

It’s as easy as one-two-three.  Just login whenever you have a pet sitting need.  You’ll be able to conveniently choose the type of service you require, the length, the time, for how long, and for which pets.  You will be able to add any additional notes that both the office and your sitter will be notified of at the time of scheduling and with the sitter’s daily schedule.  You’ll know what your total is and will receive an official confirmation shortly.   You will also be given a set of tips for a successful pet sitting experience.  And, you can call us anytime if you’d rather do it that way.

Sitter Follow-Up:

Your sitter will keep in good contact with you via email, text, or phone, whichever is your preferred mode of communication, with all the happenings at your household.  The sitter is happy to do so and loves reporting the day-to-day antics of your pets, as well as alerting you of any concerns she may have.  You’ll receive detailed notes upon your return about all the things the sitter did.  If at any time you need to change contact information, or anything at all on your profile, or your pet’s profile, you can do that whereever you are and we’ll be notified immediately.  If you need to lengthen your trip, we can also accomodate that.   We love for you to let us know of your safe return, since we worry and want to know your pets are all set with the return of their parents.
